Overview Preparation Budget Travel Thailand Hideouts
Top Destinations Bangkok Ko Pha Ngan
Runaway Hideouts are both of long and short term accommodations. They’re off the beaten path and always the best value. These are the places I’ve been to and stay at.
Wattana Resort #budget
This is not the most extraordinary beach bungalow resort but it’s definitely one of the best value. Every time I come to Ko Pha Ngan I stay here. It’s quiet, has a private beach and offers brilliant bay views. They also serve an amazing pork sandwich as well as hawaiian fried rice served in a coconut.
Bungalows start at 400 baht but go up in the high season. They’re clean, simple, and each one has a balcony and hammocks.Run Away!
The Sanctuary #mid-range
The Sanctuary is one of Thailand’s most unique retreats. It’s basically an entire town full of bungalows along a private beach. Everyday they offer free meditation at 6:00pm. They also have yoga classes in the morning and a comprehensive Detox program. Bungalows start at 1,100 Baht but they do offer dorms for 200 baht. But be sure to book well in advance cause this place is popular in any season.Run Away!
Rambuttri Village Plaza #high-end
This hotel is the perfect place to relax after your long flight. It’s also an ideal place to explore Bangkok from. Rooms start at 1,400 baht. They’re not spectacular but they’re clean and comfortable. More than the room, it’s the included breakfast buffet and the roof top pool that sets this place apart. Because of it’s location, just a block from Khao San road, this place is almost always full, so be sure to book in advance.Run Away!
