Discussing the cultural differences between countries is something every traveler loves to indulge in. In this vein, up and coming designers known as Sons of Wolves, have created a series of posters that depict these differences by looking at what we drink and the places that define where we live.
The artwork was commissioned by the prestigious P&O Cruises, in celebration of their new drinks selection, which feature gorgeous beverages from all over the world.
France is one of the favorites for a few notable reasons. It’s a land of grace, fine eateries, and of course, unrivaled wines.
In their posters they illustrate multiple landmarks of France including The Eiffel Tower, one of Europe’s ultimate romantic symbols. It was built in 1889 by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel and created to commemorate the 100 anniversary of the French Revolution, a bloody affair that eliminated the regal dictatorship, creating a democratically elected government in its wake. The tower effectively juxtaposes other landmarks and helps to illuminate the diverse history and culture of France.
A second landmark that is depicted and worth mentioning is the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Standing tall in the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, the monument represents Napoleon’s victories in 1806. Interestingly, it wasn’t actually commissioned until Louis-Philippe’s reign in 1836 when Napoleon was abdicated and exiled after the battle of Waterloo in 1815.
France is a country full of history, culture, and known world wide for it’s romantic aura. This poster of france definitely helps to highlight this.
So if you enjoy fine wine and all things fancy and French, below are 4 of the best places to find or foster romance in France.
1 Antibes
If you’re looking for a quintessentially small French town to hang out in with your lover, Antibes is it. Antibes is a quaint port town on the Cote D’Azure in Southern France. It is characterized by it’s historic fort, it’s port side promenades, it’s delicious restaurants, and of course it’s mercerizing mega yachts. It is a place where you can take long strolls with your lover through quaint alleys and on the beach. And it’s a place where you can taste authentic French cuisine and wine together.
2 Nice
Nice is just 10 minutes east of Antibes by train. It’s much bigger than Antibes and has loads of fancy French hotels and restaurants. It’s best feature is it’s long board walk and sun bathing beaches. Topless women and scantily speedeod men are abundant, which makes it the perfect place to find your exotic French lover.
3 Paris
Paris is the city of love. From historic landmarks such as the Arc De Triomphe, the Eifle tower, and the Palace Of Versaille, there are loads of cool places for you and your lover to explore.
