The idea of winning the lottery has surely been contemplated by everyone at one point or another. While some of us are practical and limit our dreams to the odds stacked against us, others are happy to pay the government’s tax on the hopeful.

Instead I have developed a different kind of formula, a formula for winning the lottery of life.
1) Be Grateful For What You Have
Whenever I think of how much I have been able to travel and all that I have, I am grateful. It makes me happy and realize that I don’t need a whole lot of crap to be happy. In effect, I have already won the lotto.

2) Stay Disciplined
There is a lot to be said about the importance and power of discipline. Not only does discipline make you feel good but also helps you to achieve you goals. It doesn’t matter what you have discipline in as long as you have it. It could be a sport, academics, even cooking, as long as you stick with it, you will get good. It requires effort and isn’t easy, but if you manage to find your discipline you will win your life’s lottery.
3) Don’t Be Afraid Of Failing Or Succeeding
I believe that we all have a potential that is our fate. Whether or not we live up to that potential is based on our discipline and willingness to fail and even succeed.
In order to overcome this we must learn how to love ourselves. It is not a cheap temporary love. Instead it is a deep inner self-confidence. It is one that can easily adapt and accept the bad and the good. This is probably the hardest to achieve, and may even take a lifetime but it is something we should all be striving towards. Conclusion
The lottery is essentially a tax on the hopeful. It is for those who are looking to win the easy way. Unfortunately for most of us we will never win the lottery. Fortunately, we all have the opportunity of winning our own lotteries. And if successful, the result will undoubtedly be 10 times more rewarding than simply picking 6 numbers and hoping.
So, what would I do if I really did win the lottery one day?
Ok, so you know I have spent many hours dreaming on this. I have envisioned buying my dream house and dream car, and living in luxury resorts around the world. But what I would really do is donate much of the winnings to charity. The way I see it, easy come easy go. I didn’t work for the money, I was merely lucky.
What ever is left over I will use to support my family. And then finally if there is anything left, I will buy my dream boat. A 44 foot catamaran known as the Helia.
